B. W. (Bill) Franks
President & CEO, The CrossGlobe Group
Bill Franks is the President & CEO of The CrossGlobe Group.
Mr. Franks began his career with Lydall Inc. in 1979. In 1983, Mr. Franks joined TNT Transall as the Director of Sales and Operations until 1986, when he rejoined Lydall Inc. At Lydall, Mr. Franks continued his career, and held various sales, marketing and operational positions. In 1998, he became a Group President of Lydall, Inc. and led the organization as its President for more than a decade.
In September of 2008, Mr. Franks partnered with Pine Creek Partners, a Washington, D.C. based private equity firm, to lead a management buyout of Lydall Transport, Ltd., previously a subsidiary of Lydall, Inc. (NYSE: LDL). He was appointed President & CEO of the CrossGlobe Group at that time.
Today, Mr. Franks plays a significant role in the overall success and growth of The CrossGlobe Group. He works closely with the management team on a daily basis to develop and implement strategic plans for the company.
Bill Franks holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from LaSalle University (LA)—he is a member of the Board of Directors of The CrossGlobe Group, serves on the Board of Directors of the Hampton Roads Shipping Association, The Truckload Carriers Association, and is a Director of TowneBank in Williamsburg, VA.
Ron Drogan
COO, CrossGlobe Group
Ronald Drogan Jr. is the Chief Operating Officer for The Cross Globe Group. Mr. Drogan began working at The CrossGlobe Group in 2008 at their Glen Allen, Virginia, corporate headquarters with his concentration being targeted on expanding international container dray, domestic transportation and warehousing operations. Since joining the organization he has opened several startup operations that have contributed profitably to the group.
Prior to joining CrossGlobe, Mr. Drogan spent 18 years with Maersk Inc.’s owned trucking company Bridge Terminal Transport (BTT). The last position that he held with BTT was as Vice President of Operations, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. He had responsibility for over 400 employees and 3500 owner operators through out North America. During his leadership, BTT was the largest and most successful inland drayage company throughout the United States and Canada.
Ron graduated from Wilkes University with a BA in Political Science. He went onto further his education at IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland and completed Executive Education courses at Harvard in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Dave Robertson
CFO, CrossGlobe Group
Dave came to CrossGlobe from Pine Creek Partners, the private equity investment firm which backed the management team's purchase of the company from Lydall, Inc. (NYSE - LDL) in 2008. Dave’s current responsibilities include strategic planning, corporate finance, managing the accounting, credit and liaising with the company's stakeholders.
Before joining Pine Creek, Dave was a Managing Director with FBR Capital Markets' (NASDAQ – FBCM) investment banking group and prior to that was with PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities, LLC. During his career Dave has worked with numerous entrepreneurs and companies in the logistics, distribution, manufacturing and consumer products industries.
Dave earned an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, a BS in Finance and International Business from the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business, and a Bachelor’s degree in German from the Pennsylvania State University College of the Liberal Arts. Dave is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Totton Walton
Director Safety and Maintenance, CrossGlobe Group
Totton Walton is Director of Safety and Maintenance for the CrossGlobe Group. He joined CrossGlobe Group in 1993 as Safety Supervisor. Mr. Walton’s current responsibilities include D.O.T and FMCSA compliance, recruiting and training owner-operator drivers, risk management strategies, safety programs and control of insurance maintenance cost. Totton Walton possesses over 20 years experience in transportation safety. His previous experience includes Driver Supervisor for Ryder Dedicated Logistics.
Under Totton’s supervision, CrossGlobe Group was awarded first place for the Safety Award with the Virginia Trucking Association safety contest for 0 accidents in Virginia for 2008. In the same year, Lydall Transport was awarded Second Place to the drivers of Lydall Transport in the National Truck Safety Contest - Safe Fleet Award for General Commodities Truckload/Line-Haul up to 10 million miles. Plus three more national safety awards in past years.
